With the release of the Galaxy S22 family and the new Galaxy A series phones and tablets, Samsung has had a busy year. However, the company is not finished yet. It will hold another Unpacked event on August 10, where it is expected to showcase more foldable phones and other products.
I really hope Samsung doesn’t stop there. With such a diverse product line, Samsung has plenty of opportunities to update and improve lesser-known goods, such as its “Fan Edition” Galaxy phones. I also expect to learn more about where Samsung plans to take its foldable after the Z Flip and Z Fold.
Here are some other Samsung devices I’d want to see in 2022 and beyond.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
The Galaxy Watch 4, which debuted in August, was a watershed moment for Samsung’s smartwatches. It’s the first device to launch with a new version of Google’s Wear OS software developed in collaboration with Samsung. Some of the benefits of such cooperation are already seen in the Galaxy Watch 4, such as its interoperability with the vast array of apps accessible in the Google Play store. However, as my colleague Scott Stein stated in his Galaxy Watch 4 review, we were expecting to see more Google-inspired capabilities. For example, the Galaxy Watch 4 did not initially include Google Assistant, though this has since changed. Hopefully, the next model will keep the things we already appreciate, such as its extensive health-tracking capabilities and beautiful display, while also incorporating more of the Google experience into the software. It would also be nice to see better battery life, as the Galaxy Watch 4 only lasted one to two days in CNET’s tests. According to the Korean tech blog ETNews, the addition of a temperature sensor is believed to be the most significant change in the Galaxy Watch 5. According to Sam Mobile, a larger battery, as well as a new “Pro” model to replace the existing Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, could be on the way. Read more: Best Apple gadgets to buy

New Samsung Galaxy Buds
For the past two years, Samsung has announced new earphones in August, so there’s a chance it will do so again in 2022. The question is whether Samsung will release a new version of its high-end Galaxy Buds Pro, ordinary Galaxy Buds 2, or bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live. According to Galaxy Club, a new set of earphones, regardless of model, could be in the works. In December, the Netherlands-based blog claimed that a recent battery listing on Korea’s product safety certification website could be for a new pair of Samsung earphones charging case. We won’t know for certain until Samsung makes a statement. If Samsung does release a new version of the Galaxy Buds Pro, we’d like to see a tighter-fitting design for enhanced noise cancellation. Samsung Galaxy S22 FE
Samsung’s “Fan Edition” cell phones are a less expensive alternative to the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S20 FE debuted in 2020 as a less expensive version of the Galaxy S20, however, the Galaxy S21 FE didn’t appear until early 2022, shortly before the Galaxy S22. As a result, it’s difficult to predict when or if Samsung will release the Galaxy S22 FE. According to the site Sam Mobile, Samsung may have canceled the Galaxy S22 FE. This would be a wise decision for Samsung, mostly because the Galaxy S21 FE felt misplaced in the company’s range, sandwiched between the Galaxy S22 and the more affordable Galaxy A series. That being said, I believe Samsung has an opportunity to introduce a phone that is a step up from the $450 Galaxy A53 but not quite as pricey as its next top Galaxy S phone. A $600 Galaxy S22 FE with a slightly larger screen and greater battery life than the Galaxy S22 may be a very appealing option. The problem with the $700 Galaxy S21 FE, in my perspective, was that the price difference between it and the S22 was not large enough to make it stand out. When it comes to mobile devices, Samsung is perhaps best known for its Galaxy smartphones. However, items such as the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds show that the corporation is also focusing on smartphone-adjacent gadgets. What comes after smartwatches and earbuds is a question only Samsung can answer. But I’m still hoping to see smart glasses someday.
