According to reports, WhatsApp is developing a new feature that would enable users to control their chats using the desktop app. The messaging service, which is owned by Meta, is now testing a feature that will allow users to pick many chats at once and carry out specific operations while using the web version of the programme. Only the Android and iOS apps of WhatsApp presently offer the ability to pick multiple chats. With a single command, users can choose several chats, designate them as read or unread, archive them, or delete them.

A forthcoming update to WhatsApp for Desktop beta will reportedly include a new feature that will allow users to pick several chats. This is according to a WABetaInfo report. According to the article, users will be able to pick many chats at once and mute, designate all of them as read or unread, or do either of those things. It will be simple to manage the chats on WhatsApp for desktop thanks to the new version.

A screenshot of the new feature posted by WABetaInfo reveals a new drop-down menu item called “Select conversations.” Notably, there is no guarantee of the release date for this feature, which is still being developed.

The instant messaging service is also developing a new function that will allow users to report any suspicious status updates made on PCs or laptops via the Desktop app. Then, any status that is allegedly in violation of the TOS will be examined. To prevent the spread of dangerous content on the platform, WhatsApp now only allows users to report spam or suspicious messages to the firm.

The instant chat software will become even more safe with these additional reporting status update options. The reported status update will be safeguarded by end-to-end encryption, just like messages, phone calls, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates. Future updates of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS are also anticipated to include the capability.
